You have been remade

Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. ~Romans 12:2a (NLT)

We all have the soundtrack of our life playing daily in our minds.  This soundtrack is set on continuous play as we tell ourselves over and over what others have said and what we have come to believe about ourselves.  Whether we want to admit it or not subconsciously we have all formed opinions of ourselves and to some degree they are based on what others’ opinions have been.  Psychologists have been telling people for years that our self-esteem comes from what the most important people in our lives think about us and tell us.  That being said, who is the most important person in your life?  When you make Jesus the most important person in your life your soundtrack is going to change.  He has a lot of good things to say about you and your future.  He wants to transform you into a new person by changing the way you think about yourself, but He cannot do that until you know and believe what He thinks and says about you.  God’s Word says you are lovable (John 3:16), capable (2 Peter 1:3), valuable (Luke 12:6), forgivable (Psalm 103:12), and usable (Ephesians 4:12).

God says call on Him, no matter what your situation, no matter where you have been and no matter what you have done.  His forgiveness and grace are always available unconditionally.  We are His handiwork.  We are His chosen people, and He is with us now and forevermore.  He knows where we have been, and He knows where we are going.  He wants us to come to a place where we receive His free gift of forgiveness and love so that we can give it to all the broken and hurting people He puts in our path!  If you want Jesus to change your life you are going to have to let Him change your mind about yourself and about others. You are going to have to choose to love like He does no matter what people say or do.  Nobody is ever really going to measure up except Jesus.  When we adhere to that truth, we will realize that if we are looking at what others aren’t getting right, we are acting prideful.  God says in Romans 14:4 “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?  To their own master, servants stand or fall.  And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.” (NIV)  You are going to stand no matter what you have done if you are in Christ because He is able to make you stand on His credentials!  Same goes for your spouse, kids, neighbors, and coworkers.  They are not standing on their works.  They are standing on Christ's works, and it would do us good to remember that.  Let your Father in heaven change your mind today and it will change your life.  Ask Him to help you see yourself and others through His eyes because to Him we are awesome!  His love is shining down on us like a laser beam every day and His grace fills up the difference between who we think we are and who He knows we can be.  We have been remade!

So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know Him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ~2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (NLT)
