Keep a faith attitude

And Joseph's master took him and put him in the prison, a place where the state prisoners were confined; so he was there in the prison. But the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy and loving kindness and gave him favor in the sight of the warden of the prison.  And the warden of the prison committed to Joseph's care all the prisoners who were in the prison; and whatsoever was done there, he was in charge of it. The prison warden paid no attention to anything that was in [Joseph's] charge, for the Lord was with him and made whatever he did to prosper. ~Genesis 39:20-23

Although Joseph was being punished unfairly because he was jailed for something he didn't do, the Lord was still with him and took care of him. We aren't really in too bad of shape, even if we end up in an unjust situation, if God is with us because God promises to give us His favor and make whatever we do to prosper.  Is God with you?  Do you have the seal of an authentic conversion by the indwelling Holy Spirit?  Do you have a personal relationship with Him and acknowledge His presence in your life no matter where you find yourself?  He wants to be with you every single day of your life.  He wants you to call on Him moment by moment.  We cannot do that if we aren’t certain about a few things.  The Lord tells us in Hebrews 11:1 “To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.” (GNT)  Those who are not sure of the things they hope for or certain of the things they do not see do not possess the kind of faith that it takes to please God.  They are what the bible refers to as double minded.  When we allow doubt to permeate our hearts it slowly but surely strips us of our certainty in God’s love for us and in His great plan for our lives.  One of the biggest lies we will ever believe from the enemy is that the hopes and dreams we have in our hearts are selfish.  I don’t know how we allow ourselves to think that our desires for our loved ones to be on the right path and our desires to prosper and be in good health are selfish, but we do.  Don’t ever let the enemy talk you into believing that God is not for you.  It’s a lie.  God is so for you He stripped Himself of His deity and took on flesh to restore you to a right relationship with Himself and He never planned on stopping there!

God wants to give you favor just as He gave favor to Joseph, but in order to receive that favor you must do what Joseph did.  Joseph not only counted on God turning things out for his good, he maintained a good attitude in a bad situation. He had a "faith attitude," and God gave him favor. A good attitude is not only vital, but inspiring.  The worse the situation, the better the attitude has to be, and it causes the favor of God to not only shine on you but through you.  Just like Joseph God will put people who will want to bless you in your path. God's favor will bring promotion, so if you are seeking promotion then maintain a "faith attitude" by thanking Him for where you are and for what you have right now.  Then start getting excited about where you are going!

I lift up my eyes to the mountains- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. ~Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)

What are you hoping for? Do you have confidence that the Lord is with you and for you? Do you know where your help comes from?
