For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer. ~1 Peter 3:12 (ESV)
A prayer is packed with the ability to bring God’s miraculous power into any situation. Do you believe that to be true? Do you believe that God hears your prayers? It’s a valid question for all of us. Many times, we pray as if we are just going through the motions. We pray about it so we can say we’ve prayed about it without giving much thought to whether God is listening or not. God tells us His ears are open to our prayers. Prayers and petitions voiced in hopes that God will answer, but not sincerely expecting Him to, will limit what we are inviting God to do in our lives. The most powerful prayers are those filled to the brim with faith. The ones we pray expecting God to act, not just wishing that He would. Hebrews 4:16 tells us “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.” When is your time of need? If it’s today, are you expecting God to act today? The Lord tells us in Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” (NIV) One might think that we wouldn’t even pray to a God we didn’t believe existed but obviously some do. Do you believe God exists? Do you believe He rewards those who seek Him for their healing, their provision, their salvation, and the salvation of their families? If so, what would be the reward? Wouldn’t it be them getting healed, receiving provision and salvation coming to them and their families?
When you pray, invite God to work miracles in your life. Instead of simply praying for a good day, pray for a bigger vision for the day and the courage you need to fulfill it. Pray for God to show you where He is working and for Him to do things that only He can do. Dream big and then pray big prayers for your family, your friends, your work and do whatever it takes to keep your dreams alive. Your heavenly Father loves you and wants to make all your dreams come true. Many of us are parents and we know what we would like to see our children’s lives look like. We want them healthy, happy, and operating in the wisdom of God. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:11 “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (NIV) Start asking and then start anticipating what your life is going to look like when you see your prayers answered miraculously. Every day is a new day to live out the amazing destiny God has prepared for you. Every day is a new day to recognize that God’s eyes are on you because Jesus has made you righteous and that His ears are open to your prayers because you have come to Him believing He rewards those who seek Him. God has promised a wonderful outcome for those who choose to live by faith in Him!
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” ~1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)
Are you expecting God to hear and answer your prayers or are you just wishing that He would? There is a difference and that difference is faith!
