Blessing Receptacles

Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! ~John 7:37 (AMPCE)

You are precious and valuable to Jesus, and He has a plan to manifest His goodness and kindness to you today and every day for the rest of your life.  It does not matter what you have done or what has been done to you—the past is the past. Let it go.  God has not only let it go, but He has also planned a great future for you. You can have a wonderful life, but you have to receive it.  You have to agree with the Lord and say, "That is for me."  On the most important day of the feast, when everyone was sure to be there, and the crowd was at capacity, the bible says Jesus cried in a loud voice.  When was the last time you heard someone cry in a loud voice?  It’s a conversation stopper and an attention getter.  Jesus wanted everyone to hear what He was about to say.  He said come to me, those of you who have a need, come to me and receive.  What we cannot do for ourselves, God has already done for us through His Son.  He invites us now to come and receive it, to drink it, to take the blessing.  We do that by believing that God’s promises are for us.  What promises are you consistently believing for God to fulfill in your life today?  Is it His promise He will be your healer? Your provider?  Is it His promise that no matter what you go through He will be with you and sustain you?   Are you believing God that your children will be blessed?  Every day of our lives we wake up to needs that we cannot meet for ourselves.  That situation was created on purpose to cause us to seek the only one that can meet them, our Heavenly Father!

To drink is defined as "to take in or receive avidly" or "to receive into one's consciousness".  Jesus said in John 16:24 “Now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full and complete.” (AMP) If you ask and receive, then your joy will be full.  That is pretty simple logic.  But far too often we stop at asking.  We don't even take the time to remain in the Lord’s presence until we receive all He wants to reveal to us.  His truth, His word, and His promises take time to settle into our consciousness and make their home in our hearts.  Are you conscious of the fact that God is faithful to hear and answer your prayers?   The Lord tells us in Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” (NIV) We have to seek God in faith. We must know that He is here with us and He is ready and able to reward us when we don’t look to ourselves or the world to meet our needs.  When we seek God with hopeful expectation based on His promises and turn them into praises for His faithfulness, we are able to receive, and our joy is made full.  How are we going to impress a depressed world if we believers are as depressed as those who are without Christ?  God wants His people to show forth the glory of His goodness upon them.  We are a receptacle for God’s blessings, and we need to continually be conscious of that truth.  Believe the Lord and receive the truth that He will reward you for seeking Him no matter how great or small the blessing.

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. ~Genesis 12:3 (NIV)

What are you asking God for today? Have you remained in His presence and received His instructions on how to move forward?
